FAQs

How do I apply?

When you find a vacancy that you wish to apply for, click the ‘Apply now’ button. You can then upload your CV to your application.

You’ll receive an email acknowledging your application and one of our dedicated team will review your application personally.

I wanted to apply for a position I saw, but it's not listed anymore - can I still apply?

We may close roles early if we reach our application numbers. Once the closing date has passed, the vacancy will no longer be listed. Unfortunately, we cannot accept late applications.

How can I check the status of my application?

The time taken for reviewing applications will vary depending on the type of role you're applying for. Our aim is always to respond to applications as soon as possible, and you will always be notified as to whether your application was successful.

Who can I contact for feedback on my application?

Due to the high number of applications that we receive, we’re unable to provide detailed feedback to candidates who are not successful in reaching the interview stage with the hiring manager.

Do you accept speculative applications?

Instead of accepting speculative CVs, we advise you to register your details on our careers website and set up alerts for future opportunities which will be relevant to you.

What do you do with my personal details?

At Dalkia, we respect your privacy and value the trust you put in us when you share your personal details with us. Find more information on what data we collect at Dalkia (UK) and why we collect this data from you: Privacy Notice.

I’m a Recruitment Consultant, how can I work with Dalkia?

We operate a preferred supplier list for recruitment agencies and are unable to accept unsolicited or speculative applications from suppliers not on the list.

Right to work in the UK

As part of our recruitment process, we’ll ask you to prove your eligibility to work in the UK.

What is our selection process?

Depending on the role you’ve applied for, we’ll usually conduct a telephone screening call with one of our Talent Acquisition team. We’ll then ask you to complete different assessments and/or interviews. From our training programmes to our senior positions, the selection process is tailored to meet specific role and business needs. As your application progresses, your recruitment contact will discuss the various stages with you.

Our commitment to inclusive hiring.

At Dalkia we put people first, they are at the core of everything we do. As a relationships-based business, we take pride in nurturing talent and building career paths that are as individual as each employee. We’re proud to have built an inclusive and diverse culture that champions the advancement of our people and supports them in maximising their potential. Our goal is to create a fair and inclusive hiring experience where barriers are removed and everyone’s welcome.

How does the interview process work?

All candidates under consideration for a role are assessed against the same set of competencies to ensure fairness. Our interviews are carried out by our recruitment team, management team and HR colleagues via telephone, virtually and face-to-face.

What happens at an assessment centre?

If you’re invited to an assessment centre, your recruitment contact will let you know what to expect. Our assessment days will usually involve several exercises for you to demonstrate different skills. Our assessment centres might be face-to-face or online, but rest assured that we’ll provide you with all the information you need in advance.

What to wear for my interview?

Interviewees usually dress in smart business-wear. A good example of this is a clean and ironed shirt with smart trousers/skirt or suit and smart shoes. This is just as important for a virtual interview as it is when meeting us face-to-face.

What is the dress code?

For site and remote technical roles you'll be provided with a uniform and necessary PPE. Otherwise, our employees are expected to dress appropriately for the environment in which they work.

When will I hear the outcome?

We know you'll be keen to hear the outcome of your interview, and we'll aim to update you as soon as we can after the last interview has taken place.

I have just finished School / College and don't have any work experience - can I still apply to Dalkia UK?

Yes, we don’t require you to have any previous work experience for our Early Careers programmes. You can find out more about all of the programmes we offer on the Early Careers Section of this careers page.
