Site Services Engineer – Mechanical Bias
Location: Imperial College London – multiple sites across London
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00
Dalkia UK provides facilities management services across approximately 30 buildings within Imperial College London's diverse and technically complex estate.
We are looking for an experienced Site Services Engineer with a mechanical bias to join our dedicated team. Predominantly supporting the Imperial College London contract, you will deliver planned and reactive maintenance across multiple sites, helping to ensure the estate remains safe, compliant and operating effectively.
What you'll be doing:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across a range of mechanical systems, including pumps, AHUs, FCUs, calorifiers and pressurisation units.
- Respond to plumbing-related callouts, including leaks, blockages, tap replacements and remedial works.
- Undertake emergency lighting tests and other safety-critical checks.
- Complete L8 compliance activities, including tap flushing, sentinel outlet temperature checks and the descaling of showerheads and eyewash stations.
- Identify faults proactively and complete repairs within your level of competence.
- Use mobile devices and CAFM systems to manage tasks, update job information and maintain accurate records.
- Escort and oversee specialist subcontractors when required.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, colleagues and site management.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health, safety and compliance requirements.
- Support the wider team with other appropriate duties that do not require a specialist skill set.
What we're looking for:
- A Level 2 mechanical qualification as a minimum, such as City & Guilds or NVQ; Level 3 would be desirable.
- Previous experience working with HVAC and mechanical building services systems.
- Experience maintaining large commercial or complex buildings; experience within hospitals, universities or similar environments would be advantageous.
- Strong multi-skilled maintenance capabilities.
- Confidence using electronic devices and CAFM systems.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- A full UK driving licence.
- A proactive, collaborative and safety-focused approach.
